United Way of Central Georgia helps more than 300,000 central Georgians each year through programs focused on education, income mobility, access to health, and meeting basic needs.
Our annual fundraising campaign provides monetary support to 33 local non-profit organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs, Meals on Wheels, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Rainbow House Children’s Resource Center, American Red Cross of Central Georgia, Communities in Schools Milledgeville/Baldwin, Salvation Army, The Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia, Crisis Line & Safe House, Family Counseling Center of Central Georgia and many more.

We also launched Read United, an initiative that targets early childhood development and grade level reading. Children who are not reading at grade level often struggle in the later grades and are more likely to drop out of high school. United Way and our community partners are working to move the needle on reading proficiency by focusing on three critical issues: school readiness, school attendance and summer learning.

United Way relies on corporate and individual donations to reach our community goals of improving the lives of central Georgians. In addition to completing workplace campaigns in over 300 companies in Central Georgia, we will also host the 7th Annual Auto Raffle. The automobile has been donated by Jeff Smith Automotive, so 100% of the ticket sales benefit United Way and our work in the community. We will give away one car the first week of January, 2017 and will have weekly prize drawings beginning the second week of January and continuing through the end of the year.
